PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 PC DATE FINALLY CONFIRMED COMING NEXT WEEK WITH XBOX CROSS- PLAY

Posted on

Back in mid-April Sega announced that Phantasy Star Online 2 would finally be releasing for PC in late May 2020, but didn’t reveal a release date beyond that. Well, that all changes today. Sega is now revealing that the official release date for PSO2 on PC is next week, specifically on May 27th. And yes, it will have cross-platform play with Xbox One.

Holy crap,” we said last June. “Phantasy Star Online 2 is finally coming to the West in spring 2020.” We avoid using exclamation points in headlines, but I’m pretty sure if that weren’t a rule, Wes would’ve used more than two. PSO2 has been out in Japan since 2012, but until that E3 announcement, we had no idea that a North American release was on the way.

“We’re thrilled to announce the long-awaited arrival on PC,” Phantasy Star Online 2 North American head of marketing Fred White said. “There’s a loud and passionate PC fanbase who has been patiently waiting for the North American version—we can’t wait to welcome them in. There will be login bonuses waiting for them with more surprises planned in the coming months.”

On April 15th Phantasy Star Online 2 launched on Xbox One, leaving Open Beta, and beginning the long-awaited era of PSO2 in North America. Now, PC players only have about a week left to wait. On May 27th when PSO2 launched on PC in North America, it will arrive as a free-to-play MMORPG just like on Xbox One and will be available exclusively from the Microsoft Store for Windows 10.
