Death in Paradise is back with its another season. In season 9, Ardal O’Hanlon would be leaving the show. He will be replaced by another character with a familiar face. Season 8 was over in February 2020.

O’ Hanlon said -” I’ve spent the last four summers in Guadeloupe playing Dl jack Mooney ( solving over 20 murder cases in my time there ) it’s been a hugely rewarding and unforgettable experience, working with incredibly talented actors, directors and crew while discovering a magical part of the world. However, it’s time to move on and explore other opportunities – preferably nearer the Article circle.

I’m confident that death in Paradise will go from strength to strength, and viewers will share my enthusiasm for Jack’s successor.

O’ Hanlon announced that this would be the last season of death in paradise I’m which he is working. He joined the team when the Caribbean police team followed a lead to London and ended up taking him back to Saint Marie.

Shiko Amos as officer Ruby Patterson, Tabi Bakare as officer JP Hooper, Don Warrington as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson and Elizabeth Bourgine as the bar owner, Catherine Bordey will be starring in season 9.

Ralf little will be replacing O’Hanlon detective inspector Neville Parker. He said, Ardal has been wonderful in the last few series and follow in his footsteps in a place as idyllic as Guadeloupe was a great honor and a dream come true. It’s a joy to play Neville, and I can’t wait for viewers to see him in paradise this series.

Aude Legastelois will be joining the team as DS Madeleine Dumas. Season 9 has been launched on January 9, 2020, on BBC, with the eight-episode continuing every Thursday night at 9:00 p.m.
