The wait is finally over because we now know when season 4 of the show will be released on Netflix. Season 4 of The Last Kingdom has finally been officially announced to release on Netflix in April 2020. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the highly anticipated release date of the Hit series, The Last Kingdom. Netflix finally announced that The Last Kingdom will arrive on Netflix on Sunday, April 26.

Fans of The Last Kingdom won’t have much longer to wait to find out what season 4 of the series will be like. But One thing is certain April 26 can’t get here fas enough for eager fans of The Last Kingdom.



The Last Kingdom is a Netflix Original web show. This is based on The Saxon Stories by author Bernard Cornwell. Originally the show was produced by BBC America and was co-produced by Netflix. It is written by Martha Hillier with Gareth Neame serving as an executive producer, Nigel Marchant, Jessica Pope, and Vicki Below also serve as producers.

The Last Kingdom season 4 screencast included is Ian Hart as dad Beocca, Toby Regbo as Aethelred, Emily Cox as Brida, Timothy Innes as Kind Edward, Eliza Butterworth as Aelswith, Mark Rowley as Finan, Millie Brady as Aethelflaed, Magnus Brunn as Cnut and Jeppe Beck Laursen as Hastein.

We can now confirm that filming for season 4 of The Last Kingdom has come to end as of October 2019. This was officially confirmed in a tweet by the series official twitter account.

The Last Kingdom season 3 saw the show enters new territory as many long time characters met their demise, none more central than David Dawson’s King Alfred.

On October 7 the screencast posted a video exclaiming their anticipation for the upcoming season 4. We got our first look at the progress of The Last Kingdom in late summer 2019 when Netflix released some pictures for season 4 of The Last Kingdom. The cast and crew were posted pictures to their social media accounts.

The pagan lord, released in 2013, and the following book to be adopted for the show will probably jump a decade or so meaning that If Netflix follows the timeline, It will mean a fresh batch of young celebrities such as Uhterd’s kids Gisela who’ve grown up.

The first 2 seasons of The Last Kingdom were aired on both the BBC and Netflix and season 3 is exclusively available on Netflix after the BBC decided to not continue with the play.
