This show is released on Tuesday night. But, these seasons will be without Captain Swan Dwyer and the Brenna. In early March TV shows Ace reported that the Deadliest Catch season 16 released on Tuesday, April 14. The biggest news is that Captain Johnathan Hillstrand has un-retired and is returned to help out Saga captain, Jake Anderson. The biggest surprise is that Scott Campbell Jr. who left crab fishing due to a serious back injury returned to fishing and the Discovery show.

In an interview with Entertainment weekly, Alaskan crabber and Deadliest Catch star Captain Keith Coburn shares that one of the biggest challenges of the season is competition with the Russian fishing fleet which happens to be fishing at the same time.

The Russians have been overharvesting, illegally harvesting, excessively harvesting and importing crab into the U.S for years.

On Monday, April 13, Keith posted to Deadliest Catch’s Instagram to share a message of hope during these unprecedented times. the highly anticipated new upcoming season of Deadliest Catch will also see the Alaskan crab fleet face off against their biggest rival for the first time, the Russians.

Deadliest Catch is returning for its 16th season on the Discovery channel on April 14 with a bonus 2-hour episode. New episodes of the show will be released every Tuesday at 8 pm and If this season follows the format of last seasons, there will likely be around 20 episodes in season 16.
