Red witnessed Katarina’s murder at the hands of two unknown men. But her death was a trick and when Katarina revealed to Liz that she’d faked her own demise (like a mother, like a daughter!), the women formed an alliance.
“In Red’s mind, Katarina Rostova is dead. She’s gone, and so is the threat that she posed to Liz and the task force
Liz revealed to Ressler that her mother is actually alive, in an effort to curb Ressler’s guilt about his involvement with Katarina’s death. But Bokenkamp assures us that Liz won’t regret spilling the beans to her colleague — at least for the time being.
In upcoming episodes, Liz’s secret isn’t the only one that Ressler is keeping.
“One of the biggest secrets is being kept by Agent Ressler,” Bokenkamp teases. “We tend to think of Ressler as a very by-the-book agent — a real Boy Scout whose career is built upon integrity. But I think the audience is going to be really surprised when they peel back the curtain and take a peek into his past.

EXPECTATIONS FROM THE SHOW
I doubt James Spader would be up to it, but I’d rather see a whole show about just Reddington. I just don’t care about Elizabeth Keen at all. She continues to just be in the way of what would otherwise be a pretty fun show. I guess the writers want you to care about Keen, her story, or backstory I guess, but I just don’t. They had an opportunity to tell Keen’s story when it actually would have mattered, but now, it’s pointless. All I can ever think is how much better the show would be without that particular character and I blame it mostly on the writers. Keen’s origin story should have wrapped up years ago, and Raymond Reddington is just too charming, charismatic, and fun to watch that focusing on Elizabeth Keen feels like a chore.
